Lucky Luke is a French-Belgian comic book series of humorous westerns created by Belgian cartoonist Morris in the 1947 Almanac, a special series of the newspaper Spirou published in 1946. Morris is assisted, starting with the ninth story, by several writers, the most famous of whom is René Goscinny. Since Morris' death in 2001, drawing has been handled by Achdé.

The series features Lucky Luke, a lonely cowboy in the Wild West, known for being "The Man Who Shoots Faster Than His Shadow," accompanied by his horse Jolly Jumper and mostly the dog Rantanplan. During his adventures, he must restore justice to the Wild West by hunting down bandits, the best known of whom are the Dalton brothers. The series is riddled with humorous elements that parody western works.
